Issue 20: Apple Solidifies its Top Standing Amongst the FAANGs

The last of the FAANG stocks to report its latest quarterly results was Apple Inc. (AAPL:NASDAQ). FANG, the shorter four-letter acronym created by CNBC’s Jim Cramer ten years ago, was intended to represent the world’s most prominent and influential mega cap growth companies. The original FANGs included recognizable names like Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, and Google. The group was expanded and recoined FAANG in 2017 with the addition of Apple. Together the FAANGs represent an astronomical US$6.1 trillion in market capitalization. Apple, which is currently the largest company in the world with a market cap of US$2.7 trillion, single handedly exceeds the market capitalizations of the United Kingdom, France and Germany!
